Counselling Profile

Martha has worked with women in the UK since she got a Diploma in Christian Studies & Pastoral Care at the International Bible Institute of London in 1992. Suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after the birth of her first child in the UK in July 2000, she found healing through Jesus Christ and started a charity in Peru (Help Children) and a support group in the UK (Brith Trauma Counselling) where she and her voluntary team have helped many women to find their own way or recovery. Her book Real Healing After Caesarean is a perfect book for those suffering from postnatal Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and a useful tool of information for all health professionals dealing with women. The book is free for women suffereing from postnatal PTSD.

Her Diploma in Crisis Counselling by the Institute of Counselling combined with her high listening skills has helped her to understand different approaches and techniques in counselling.

The development of her listening skills and empathy is due to her many years working as a volunteer in her own charities and other organizations like the Association for Post Natal Illness and the Birth Trauma Association.

As a member of the BACP-British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, Martha Jesty is bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, the Ethical Guidelines for Researching Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure for the time being in force.
